Terms of Service

Effective August 27, 2026

Agreement

These Terms of Service govern your use of Path. By creating an account, signing in, or using Path, you agree to these terms.

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share information and is part of your agreement with us.

If you do not agree, do not use the app.

Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old and old enough to use Path under the laws where you live.

You are responsible for the activity on your account and for keeping your sign-in method secure.

The Service

Path provides journaling, chat, reflection, onboarding analysis, future predictions, origin stories, recaps, insights, generated cover images, friend invites, compatibility scoring, and related AI-generated features.

Path may change, suspend, or remove features as the service develops.

Path may be unavailable, delayed, inaccurate, or interrupted from time to time.

Health, Wellness, And Emergencies

Path is for personal journaling and reflection. It is not a medical device, therapy provider, crisis service, or substitute for professional advice.

Do not rely on Path for diagnosis, treatment, mental health counseling, legal advice, financial advice, emergency support, or other professional services.

Path does not monitor your content for emergencies and cannot contact emergency services for you.

If you may be experiencing an emergency, contact local emergency services or a qualified professional.

Your Content

You keep ownership of the journal entries, messages, onboarding answers, and other content you provide to Path.

You grant Path permission to host, process, transmit, display, summarize, transform, and use your content solely as needed to provide, maintain, secure, troubleshoot, and improve Path.

You are responsible for the content you submit and must have the rights needed to submit it.

Do not submit confidential, regulated, or highly sensitive information about another person unless you have the right to do so.

AI Output

Path uses AI to generate responses, journal entries, summaries, insights, recaps, predictions, archetypes, cover images, and compatibility scoring.

AI output may be inaccurate, incomplete, or not appropriate for your situation. You should review output before relying on it.

Path is not a medical, mental health, legal, financial, or emergency service. Do not use Path as a substitute for professional advice or urgent help.

Acceptable Use

Do not use Path to break the law, violate someone else's rights, harass people, submit harmful code, attempt to access data you are not allowed to access, reverse engineer the service, or interfere with Path systems.

Do not submit content that you do not have permission to share, and do not use Path to generate or distribute harmful, exploitative, deceptive, or abusive content.

Do not use Path to make automated decisions about employment, housing, credit, education, insurance, healthcare, legal matters, or other significant rights or opportunities.

Friend Features

Friend invite links are private links that can connect two accounts. Only share invite links with people you intend to connect with on Path.

Compatibility information may be generated from available profile, onboarding, journal, and friend context. It is for reflection only and should not be treated as a definitive judgment of a relationship.

You are responsible for deciding whether to share an invite link and for understanding that a connected friend may see your first name and the compatibility score Path computes for that friendship.

Accounts And Deletion

You can sign out or delete your account from the app. Account deletion is intended to permanently delete your account and associated user-owned app data, subject to limited retention for security, legal compliance, or dispute resolution.

We may suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe you violated these terms, created risk for Path or others, or used the service unlawfully.

Paid Features

Path may offer paid features or memberships. If you buy through an app store or payment provider, that provider may handle billing, refunds, renewals, and cancellations under its own terms.

Paid features may change over time. Unless required by law or stated at purchase, fees are non-refundable once charged.

Feedback

If you send feedback, suggestions, or ideas, you allow Path to use them without restriction or compensation to you.

Disclaimers

Path is provided as is and as available. To the fullest extent allowed by law, Path disclaims warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, availability, and uninterrupted or error-free operation.

Limitation Of Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Path will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or loss of goodwill.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

Governing Law And Disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, except where the law where you live requires otherwise.

If you have a problem, please contact us at alvin@pathjournal.app first. Most issues can be resolved informally, and we ask that you give us 30 days to try before starting a formal proceeding.

If we cannot resolve a dispute informally, it may be brought in the state or federal courts located in California, and you and Path each consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.

Either of us may still bring an individual claim in small claims court if it qualifies. Nothing in these terms prevents you from contacting a government agency or exercising rights that cannot be waived under the law where you live.

Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. We will update the effective date, and for significant changes we will try to give notice in the app or by email.

Continued use of Path after updates means you accept the updated terms.
